Stunning early 1960’s vintage Wolsey Vanity Fair sheer silky soft ivory nylon and delicate matching lace and chiffon detail bridal nightgown. This adorable dreamy princess style nightdress is without doubt one of the loveliest we have ever owned! It has a stylish v-neckline and softly gathered lace trimmed bra cups which are all overlaid with beautiful sheer ivory chiffon which extends to form the shoulders of the garment and down the back of the bodice too. There is more luxurious lace under the bust, around the back of the neckline and also a pretty lace motif on the top of each shoulder for that added touch of glamour. The main body of the garment is of the softest silkiest sheer ivory bri-nylon which feels delicious next to the skin. The midriff is fitted, giving way to a gathered skirt which falls in soft folds towards the lovely hemline which is edged with a layer of chiffon to complete the look. In 1958, the American lingerie maker Vanity Fair entered into an agreement with the British manufacturer Wolsey to make elegant lingerie in the Vanity Fair style, aimed at the UK market. Sadly, this collaboration didn’t last long, ending in 1962. This adorable item is a fabulous example of an authentic classy 1960’s vintage nightdress to add a touch of luxury to your vintage nightwear collection.
