We have just taken delivery of a fabulous Rootstein mannequin and she has already made an impression, judging by the first photo results. For the Rootstein aficionados out there, they tell me she is a ‘G1’ Suzanna – one of the lovely Calendar Girls series and based on the model Susanna Linsmeyer. I think this particular mannequin has been in production since the 80’s and although I don’t know how old mine is, I do know that she was previously on display behind glass in a museum, hence her unblemished condition. She certainly photographs well and her ‘skin’ reflects the studio a lot less than our previous ‘model’ so we get less of those undesirable highlight burnouts. I love this particular one – she has a certain classic 1950’s cinematic look about her, perfect for that little extra touch of glamour. I am hooked on Rootsteins now and I can’t imagine it will be long before I buy another, and another. Isn’t she pretty?
